According to LoveFM,
"Earlier today Prime Minister Said Musa announced the state of emergency has been lifted for the entire country of Belize."
I think Punta Gorda, Belizeit's town, is still going to get really, really wet, but that totally beats getting wiped out.
This looks like good news for Belize, as Felix is now predicted to go south of the country. But, I'm quite surprised by how much the track has changed from just yesterday. Do the forecasters have any real sense of where a hurricane is going to go?
Another category 5 hurricane is heading towards Belize, home of David, Ellie, and Eliza Buck (aka Belizit). Unlike Dean, this hurricane is heading towards the southern portion of Belize, which is where the Bucks call home.
