I really enjoyed blogging our vacation. It was very satisfying to come home from a day at the parks or at the pool, download the pictures, and then create 3 or 4 posts from what we had done.
The vacation as a whole was really wonderful too. I didn't think it would have much of an impact on me since I was bringing my job (Jason Managed Care) with me. But I was wrong, and now I feel fresh and recharged. The recharged feeling is a product of Laurie being with us, the support Russ and Trista provided, and just breaking 100% out of our daily routine. Every step of the journey was totally new for Jason and also for Laurie and I as parents. And it doesn't hurt that we brought some Floridian weather home with us.
This will be my 25th and final post about Florida. I've tagged them all with the word 'Florida' so anytime we want to go back and remember the trip we can just click that tag. I suppose our next trip to Florida will have to be tagged 'Florida 2' or 'Disney Strikes Back' or something similar.
Yesterday our camera suffered a serious stair-related accident, and I'm not sure if it is going to recover, so I don't have any final pictures. I'll have to leave you with what I overheard at the Orlando Denny's we had breakfast at on Friday:
"Will you be having any dessert this morning?"
The central premise of the book is pretty dark (4 suicidal strangers meet up at a common suicide spot, and what happens next), but despite that the book was light and fast. I was going to say 'fun', but that wouldn't be exactly accurate. This isn't an uplifting book. But it isn't a downer either (ooh! a pun). It has a nice blend of sarcasm and hope.
Russ and I went to the movies yesterday to see 300. It wasn't the greatest movie ever, but we enjoyed it.

This movie is heartbreakingly wonderful if severed limbs, splattered blood, slow motion battle scenes, and really cool helmets are your cup of tea, with the stipulation that you can ignore insipid speeches about vague concepts like 'freedom' and 'glory' peppered through approximately 35% of the film.
Russ and Trista took us to the Super Double Secret Cast Members resort called Mickey's Retreat today.
