This is not a test.
So after two years of using Vox as my main blog I'm moving on. I have enjoyed using Vox, especially how easy it is to post. I like how it organizes my stuff, and I like the look of the blog. I especially liked that some of my friends and family joined Vox and have great blogs of their own.
But, I've become unsatisfied for a number of reasons:
- I don't think the makers of Vox, Six Apart, are focused on improving the service. Most of the new things they've been doing have been focused on sponsors like HP. I can't think of any improvement in over a year I found interesting.
- They never opened up comments to non-registered users.
- They never gave us the ability to add non-Voxers to our neighborhood.
- A lot of people tell me that Vox doesn't look right on their computers or doesn't load at all or doesn't render videos correctly.
- Vox loads slowly and looks terrible on my iPhone, which is actually a big deal to me.
So, I'm moving to a Tumblr blog. Starting Monday (or sooner) www.washavex.com will point to www.washavex.tumblr.com. I've been working on the site and I think it looks good and does most of the things I want from a blog. If you follow me using an RSS reader, please update your feed.
I won't delete this blog, and I'll still visit my Vox friends. But, my new posts will be over at the new blog, dubbed: Washavexian.
